Run 39 was a miracle. The weather was as bad as hell and the KL Full Moon Hash had their monthly run on the same day but over 50 hashers turned up. Bravo! Veteran hasher Buffalo Gan set a very cunning trail and the first hasher, Suppository was out in 1:15. Hot tea which seems to be a recurring feature of Veggiehash was very much in demand given the weather. We normally consume no more than 4 crates of beer but for this run 6 crates were polished and even that was not enough. 3 bottles of whiskey kindly sponsored by How Siow, Burns and annonymous were licked dry. Don’t worrry, next run I will be prepared with more crates of beer & whiskey will be available too.

All are welcome. Dogs and children (provided they are accompanied by adult hashers) are okay. As usual, please bring a change of clothes, bathing water if you want to bathe and chairs or stools if you don’t want to stand. Feel free to pass on this info to anyone who may be interested in hashing. On on!
Basically hit Jalan Kuching and head north till you see the exit for Bandar Baru Selayang. Take this exit and look out for the signs to Satdium Majlis Perbandaran Selayang which is in Bandar Baru Selayang. See the map below to get a better idea. The area you will be running in is called Bukit Botak. Hasher Mohd Nor of Petaling Hash was kind to point out that the run site should be (and it is) right up the base of the hill near the school and not near the shophouses which is not suitable. Thanks, Nor and on on! Please note, the best landmark to look for is the MPS Stadium which is sandwiched between two small roundabouts.

hi i saw a write up on this in an old issue of expat magazine. I was wondering how long is the run and how fit does one need to be? Do you have for instance a slow pace for beginners? I gym and work out but i wouldn’t say i’m that fit as a hate cardio. I am however a veggie and dog lover and thinkin my dog would love a good run.
Hello Sue Yian. Veggiehash runs average about 90 minutes. It also depends whether you’re a front-runner or walker. I think you should be fine! You don’t need to be super fit as part of the trail would entail climbing, some walking and some sprinting if you’re OK for that. We get beginners all the time and they have no problems unless they’re seriously overweight.
You can however choose not to complete the whole trail – it’s entirely up to you and your level of fitness. If you work out in the gym, our runs should be very easy for you. Try our next one in Selayang, and bring your dog along!
On On!

Fantastic… very fantastic issue. I’m going to blog about it too.
